'Universal Life Force Energy’
Reiki is a form of energy healing that was founded in Japan in about 1920 by Mikao Usui. The practice is based on the idea that we all have an unseen “life force energy” flowing through our bodies, and after all everything is energy and vibration so that makes sense.
Reiki therapy is a way of guiding that energy throughout the body to promote the recipient’s self-healing abilities. Reiki is incredibly relaxing which assists the body natural healing abilities.
What are the health benefits of Reiki as a complimentary therapy?
Reiki is linked to a range of physical, emotional and mental health benefits, including better sleep, improved mood, and pain relief. Research suggests Reiki helps your body return to a state of relaxation, which allows it to heal from damage brought on by stress, anxieties, injury, or disease. One of the main benefits , that then leads to many other benefits is that Reiki reduces stress, which is great because our bodies cannot heal from anything if they're in a constant state of stress
What happens during a Reiki session?
During a session, a Reiki practitioner will gently move their hands above or close to the recipients fully clothed body in a series of hand positions. There is very little to no talking during these therapy sessions, which typically last between 45 - 90 minutes. The treatment is deeply relaxing, calming and rejeauvenating
